About the Project

Sapkota Kalyan Kendra UK (SKK UK) is a community organisation serving the Nepali diaspora in the United Kingdom. Community organisations run on member trust and easy day-to-day administration — members need a simple way to manage their own details and identity, and the organisation needs a clear, reliable way to review and act on changes. The SudamHub Team built a dedicated member portal to serve exactly that relationship, with active feature development continuing well past initial launch.

Description

Sapkota Kalyan Kendra UK is a Laravel 12 / Filament 5 member portal engineered by the SudamHub Team for the UK Nepali community. The platform gives members a self-service home for their profile and ID, while giving the organisation's administrators a structured, reviewable way to manage every change, volunteer, and community event.

Communication

  • Working transactional email system for the portal, including profile and workflow notifications

Technical Infrastructure (SudamHub Team)

  • Built on Laravel 12 and Filament 5 for a modern, maintainable admin experience

  • Tailwind v4 styling with resolved cascade conflicts for consistent cross-browser rendering

  • Deployed and maintained on cPanel shared hosting

Key Statistics

  • 2 core workflows built around member self-service: profile editing and ID management

  • 1 full change-review pipeline with diff-based admin approval

  • Ongoing active feature development beyond initial launch

What Makes the Website Different

  • Members can request changes without ever having direct write access to their own official record

  • A Bikram Sambat community calendar built specifically for a Nepali diaspora audience, not a generic Gregorian calendar bolted on

  • Digital ID cards that are genuinely usable — flip animation, print, and PDF export all working together

  • Built as a living platform with continuous feature additions, not a one-time launch

Why This Platform Was Built This Way

A diaspora community organisation isn't just a website — it's the connective tissue for people who want to stay linked to their community and their culture while living abroad. That's why the calendar speaks in Bikram Sambat, why the ID card is something a member can actually print and carry, and why every profile change goes through a clear review process instead of a silent database update.

This is how SudamHub builds for community organisations: member trust first, with the administrative structure built to match it.
